Benke honored and thanked four retiring members of the Board of Directors for their years of tireless and faithful service to the Atlantic District. Mr. Lomnitzer was honored for his work within the congregation and in ministries that include the New York Regional Division of Orphan Grain Train, the Lutheran's Capital Area Relief Efforts to New Orleans and SonRise Lutheran Ministries. ![]() Klara Erdt, a member of All Saints in Lagrangeville, received a Servant of Christ award at the convention. In his nomination of her, Rev. Glenn Stubbs, Jr., wrote, "Klara is our invisible angel. She has been taking care of the church and its families for as long as there has been an All Saints..." ![]() Linda Ryan, second from left, a member of Our Redeemer Church, Aquebogue, was honored as a Servant of Christ for her "...gift of mercy and passion for outreach..." Linda led her congregation to participate in Maureen's Haven," a winter sheltering program on the east end of Long Island. ![]() Marilyn Heinrich, center, a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Bronx, received a Servant of Christ award for "...her enormous commitment to Trinity...," serving in many capacities over many, many years. |
