  • True Light Church 75th Anniversary Celebrations--Worship Service and Chinese Banquet on Saturday, May 14.  The Worship Service is at 2:30 PM at True Light Church, 195 Worth Street, Manhattan.  Atlantic District President, the Rev. Dr. David H. Benke, preaching.  The banquet will begin at 5:30PM at Jing Fong Restaurant, 20 Elizabeth Street.  The speaker will be Rev.   • The Atlantic District, LCMS and Concordia College in Bronxville, New York, will host the National Lutheran School Funding Academy, a three day workshop, May 23-25, 2011. This Conference is appropriate for school administrators, pastors and congregational leaders.  Please see the files below for more information, including participant scholarship opportunities, on this May 23 through 25, 2011 workshop, which has been made possible by grants from the LCEF and four LCMS Districts.

  • True Light Church 75th Anniversary Celebrations--Art Exhibit Saturday, March 26, 3-5 PM, and Sunday, March 27, 2-4 PM & Harmonious Chorus, a Concert on March 27 beginning at 5 PM. True Light Church, 195 Worth Street, Manhattan.The art exhibit will feature the work of Deanna Ko, a freshman at the Maryland Institute College of Art.   • Grace Lutheran Church, 240 Mastic Road at Lincoln Avenue, Mastic Beach, NY 11951, A Night in Bethlehem, A Christmas experience so real, you will feel as if you'd been there. Bring your whole family to this free event and experience Bethlehem as it was on the night that Jesus was born. Friday, December 17th at 7:00-9:00p.m., Saturday, December 18th at 7:00-9:00p.m. and Sunday, December 19th at 12:30- 2:00p.m.  This event is held this year to bring families and friends together to experience the sights and sounds of ancient Bethlehem.  Open to the public.   • Redeemer Lutheran Church, Bayside, Queens, will host "Canticles of the Incarnation:  A Festival of Epiphany Lessons & Carols" on Sunday, January 9th, 2011, at 5:30 p.m.  The Order of Vespers will include Scripture lessons, hymns, and sacred music based on the four major canticles:  Magnificat, Benedictus, Nunc Dimittis, and Te Deum.  Each canticle will be sung in a choral setting by the Chapel Choir, Alumni Choir, or Men's Camerata of The Lutheran School of Flushing & Bayside.  A congregational setting will follow each choral setting.  Dr. Jean Boehler will serve as guest organist.  A reception will follow the service.

  • St. Mark's Yonkers -- Classes Begin at St. Mark's Arts in Missions Program
    Dr. Jean Boehler, Director of Arts in Mission-NY (AIM), St. Mark's, Yonkers, announces the inaugural schedule of Musik Garten, three age-appropriate levels of music instruction for children 16 months to 6 years old. Classes begin on Monday, September 20th, 2010, and run through May 2011.
